About

Aliya Torsekar is a second generation Indian-American illustrator based in New York and Southern California. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She enjoys scientific and medical illustration, pattern design, and lifestyle illustration.

Her work features a variety of styles, spanning from intricate ballpoint pen figures to lighthearted, brightly colored illustrations. She loves to create work centered around the human figure, combined with elements of  botanical and medical illustration. 

She is currently working at the RisoLAB in Chelsea, NYC.

During her summers, she sells her work at a wide range of art markets throughout San Diego County. She specializes in selling prints, stickers, and hand-printed tote bags.
